Surya’s production crew travelled across the world to gather intimate production details from their facilities in India - the result, an insightful documentation of the rug-weaving process and all that it entails. The video illustrates the intricate detail, hard work and sheer craftsmanship that go into each and every Surya rug. Each rug is unique, as it was individually woven by hand with hand-dyed yarn.
Whether it is hand-tufted or hand-knotted – each rug embodies the true essence of the “Surya people” and is woven with a little love, patience and care. “We want to give people an in-depth look into what we really do, you see, the core of our company is not the rugs – it’s the people. The passion they exude for their craft is rare, but inspiring, and we want to share that with the world,” said Satya Tiwari, President of Surya.
