These are the leaders of the aggressive new marketing strategy for Stanley Furniture Company. Each reports to Jeff Scheffer, Stanley president and chief operating officer. PHIL HANEY: In the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Phil Haney brings 26 years of marketing experience from a related home fashion industry. Most recently as president of Karastan Rug and Home, he was responsible for a new strategic business unit established to expand the Karastan brand into luxury home textiles, including decorative pillows, throws and other top-of-bed products. He also has served as senior vice president of marketing and sales for the manufacturer of high-end area rugs and broadloom carpeting. “Phil is respected within the floor covering industry for his proven leadership skills and his ability to carefully analyze the marketplace and then implement innovative marketing programs,” Scheffer says. “Not only will he bring a fresh approach, but he is the type of individual who can help us successfully navigate through the complex marketing changes that face our industry.” Through the years, Haney has amassed experience in the luxury home furnishings category, managing a major brand within the business structure of a large corporate entity. He supervised the product development of broadloom carpet and area rugs, created new retail display and merchandising systems, implemented lifestyle television advertisements for national broadcast as well as with local retailer co-op programs, and developed a highly innovative web site. In addition, he is credited with building solid relationships with customers and motivating company sales teams. “Karastan's distribution includes many fine furniture retailers and it is through them that I became familiar with Stanley,” Haney says. “Stanley is highly regarded by its retail partners for its ability to deliver value to the consumer and for leading the industry in quality and service, which is so important in today's economy. “I look forward to bringing new marketing ideas that will lead to increased sales for our retail partners and to helping our sales team provide support and solutions to the sales and design associates of our retail dealers,” he says. “After years of admiring the company from a related industry, it will be exciting to participate in the business directly, as we move to strengthen our brand equity with our retail dealers.” BILL SIBBICK: As Senior Vice President/Product Manager of Bedroom and Dining Room, Bill Sibbick combines extensive experience in product development and sales. “Bill is thoroughly familiar with what sells in retail stores from coast to coast,” Scheffer says. “He has a terrific eye for identifying design trends and working with our product designers to translate those trends into furniture that appeals to consumers.” KELLY CAIN: Kelly Cain, now senior vice president/product manager of home office and home entertainment, has a broad background in product design. In his new position, his focus is on designing furniture that will accommodate and adapt to evolving technologies, with all the beauty of furniture that is in the rest of the house. “Kelly is armed with cutting-edge information about technology and electronics gleaned from key trade shows in the computer and consumer electronics industries,” Scheffer says. “He knows style, he knows technology and he is a family man who truly understands how families live and what they need to work and relax at home.” GLENN PRILLAMAN: Glenn Prillaman continues to head the youth division as vice president/product manager of Young America®, where he has focused on the special design, function, storage and safety needs of kids furniture. “He is as creative as they come, and knows how to appeal to kids and parents at the same time,” Scheffer says. “Glenn has the distinct talent to develop furniture that will grow up with the child and will last for a lifetime.”
