A British company of fourth and fifth generation craftsmen spanning 128 years, is introducing a line of elegant and enduring handmade garden furniture to the US that can be found in the UK's premier gardens and tennis clubs. Each piece from Cathedral Garden Furniture is made the traditional way hand-built with mortise and tenon joints. They are constructed from Teak, Iroko - a West African hardwood that is similar to Teak in properties and can be adjusted to suit customers' specific needs. From classically-styled chairs to tables and specially designed benches that fit around trees, bay windows, or in nooks, all seats are available with wheels and handles as options. Left unfinished the woods will age to a soft silvery gray or they can be stained as required. Every effort is made to ensure that all timber used are from sustainable sources, says the company. Beautiful complementary architecture, such as trellis, gazebos, pergolas, arches and arbors are also being introduced in Iroko and Cedar. Cathedral Garden Furniture's customers include the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Clubs (Wimbledon), the Royal Ascot Lawn Tennis Club, and the Oxford University Botanical Garden. It also provides the grand entrance displays for the hospitality area of the Royal Horticultural Society Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. The company's products will be on display at The English Garden Pavilion at the International Home and Garden Show, High Point, NC from October 17 - 23. All pieces for the US market are flat-packed or can be shipped fully assembled and are available through local distributors.
