With a multi-million dollar investment in people, equipment and real estate, the company plans to create integrated manufacturing and distribution centers which will more than double capacity. Many of its existing locations, including Fredericksburg, VA; Lakes Wales, FL and Rancho Cucamonga, CA, will be transformed into integrated facilities of 100,000 square feet and larger. Other existing locations in Austin, TX and Tipton, MO will begin running double or triple shifts. "In the four months that we have been fully operational, Premier Bedding Group has experienced tremendous growth. By creating integrated facilities now, we are ensuring superior customer service for our retailers and looking ahead to maintain that quality service as we continue to grow rapidly." While one or two small assembly plants may close as a result of the integrated strategy, phase two of the plan includes building several new manufacturing and distribution locations. Employees currently working at a site that closes will be offered jobs at another location including assistance with relocation expenses. "We are very excited about our new operations plan. The net result is that we will be able to better service retailers in a more timely fashion," said Joel Welde, Vice President, Operations, PBG. The company's product lines include Carrington Chase by Bassett, Dream Maker by Bassett, Performax and Nature's Rest.
