This year, Pacific Sun Casual Furniture celebrates its 50th year of operation. The manufacturer of commercial grade outdoor furniture reflects on a history that began in Los Angeles and made its way to a facility in the now booming Inland Empire of Southern California.
Referred to during its early days in Los Angeles as Sun Supply, the company became known as Pacific Sun Casual Furniture upon its move to Hemet, California, in the early 1980s. The then family-owned company developed a loyal following and gained experience in the manufacture and design of commercial grade aluminum outdoor furniture.
Since its acquisition by The Winsford Corporation in 2000, the company has expanded its offerings, placed a premium on both value and service, and reached out to a larger customer base than ever before. “We’ve come a long way since our initial roots, and farthest in the last four years,” said Pacific Sun Casual Furniture president Peter Sweetland. “By leveraging our capabilities with those of sister companies Forbes Industries and The Harloff Company, as well as investing in a team of talented individuals, we’ve created an environment that complements the value and selection we offer to the commercial furniture buyer.”
In this anniversary year, the company adds teak, all-weather wicker and cast aluminum to its offerings.
