Two new groups of Sunbrella® brand furniture fabrics have received top recognition in the ADEX Awards Competition, the largest and most prestigious awards program for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade. Sunbrella fabrics are known for their superior performance as well as design excellence. The Sunbrella Rose Chenille Collection received a platinum award, while the Sunbrella Scarlet Collection received a gold trophy. “Winning these two ADEX awards offers further confirmation that the design community recognizes the design quality of Sunbrella as well as its performance attributes,” said Gina Wicker, design director for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, LLC, the makers of Sunbrella. “These awards will help us continue our outreach to the design community, letting everyone know that you can have it all – color, design, hand, fade and stain resistance and ease of cleaning – all in one fabric,” she said. The luxurious Sunbrella chenille group represents Sunbrella's first foray into formal chenille fabrics for indoor and outdoor applications. Award winning patterns included Rousseau, a large-scale neoclassic frame, along with its coordinating chair pattern, Shelley, which combines both Sunbrella boucle and chenille yarns for added surface interest. Also in the chenille entry was Cello, a solid chenille body cloth, and Chenillela, a pattern created by Joe Ruggiero for Sunbrella that combines flat yarns in a variety of rose shades with antique beige chenille to create a ribbed effect. Sunbrella’s gold award winning Scarlet group showcases the warm hues available in the Sunbrella palette. Delicate Jacobean styling of Scarlett coordinates with the corded stripe, Pablo, which was created through the use of a heavier yarn to create surface interest. Pattern Coleridge is a textured weave that is available in a wide range of colors and pairs nicely with formal and casual styles. Glen Raven revolutionized the way the world thinks about how beautiful fabrics perform with the introduction of Sunbrella brand fabrics in 1960. Today, durable, easy-care Sunbrella is available in thousands of sophisticated styles, patterns and colors for wherever people live, work and play.
