The Las Vegas Furniture Show, taking place July 25 through 28 at the Sands Expo and featuring some of the world’s top furniture manufacturers, announced the event will also serve to help women and children at the Shade Tree Shelter. The Shade Tree Shelter, an organization dedicated to providing safe shelter to homeless and abused women and children in crisis and providing life-changing services promoting stability, dignity and self-reliance, will receive a truck-load of display furniture at the conclusion of the four-day event on July 28. Executive Director of the shelter, Brenda Dizon, is extremely pleased with the partnership. “This is such a blessing,” Dizon said. “We are always in need of furniture. We help women set up homes, and the fact that we will be able to provide new furniture to these women is fantastic.” P. Stephan Phelps, president and chief executive officer of Triad Expositions, LLC, the organizer and producer of the furniture show, wanted the first-ever show to be of some benefit to the city welcoming it. “As soon as I heard of Shade Tree, I knew that this organization would be one I wanted to work with,” said Phelps. “I spoke with a few exhibitors who are eager to donate the show furniture to this wonderful cause.” The event, taking place during what has been dubbed “Furniture Week” in Las Vegas boasts more than 300,000 square feet of exhibition space and more than 100 manufacturers, including Las Vegas-based Milano Design. The show will feature a full array of furniture including sofas, loveseats, lounge chairs, recliners, dining room and casual tables, lamps, rugs, and bedding just to name a few. The Las Vegas Furniture Show is one event of several being held at the same time as the newly completed World Market Center. A free shuttle service will be offered between the Las Vegas Furniture Show and other known furniture show venues all four days of the show. The exhibition floor will be open Monday, July 25, through Thursday, July 28, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The floor will close early its final day, at 5 p.m. The show will be held semi-annually, with the next dates set for January 2006. The show is open to the furniture trade only and is not open to the public. Triad Expositions, LLC, a national trade show development and management firm, has more than 25 years of experience in the tradeshow management industry. Its staff has developed three Tradeshow 200 events, two of which made the list after the first show. Triad has a national reputation for producing quality trade show events, and has developed and produced more than 100 national events.
