The Rug Market America reported that it will take cues from the Market’s Focus on Fashion theme with its latest rug collection introductions. The Rug Market America, an exhibitor in The Suites at Market Square in High Point, will follow in its long history of incorporating fashion forward influences into rug designs.
Mike Shabtai, founder and owner of The Rug Market America, has viewed fashion as a leading influence since the company’s beginnings. “The reference to fashion may the theme for this year’s market; but it has always been the theme for our company’s design philosophy and, ultimately, our product offerings,” said Shabtai. “We see our rugs as floor dressing for interior spaces.”
At the 2012 High Point Furniture Market, The Rug Market America’s new introductions will include an extensive collection of wool rugs. At $599 to $699 suggested retail for 5’ x 8’ models within the collection, retailers are able to provide a slice of fashion affordably.
Artistic motifs are evident across the wool collection including an appropriately named, “Dapple,” that boasts a neutral canvas with dabbed strokes of subtle greys and greens. “Grace” adds color in a sophisticated, yet contemporary manner reminiscent of a beautiful hand painted scarf. Waves of color in cool harmony are designed into “Spark” that is fashioned as a complementing design for traditional or contemporary furnishings. Decorative striping and color blocks are infused with contemporary coloring in the “Devin;” while “Lorena” and “Kara” carry on the ikat design theme that can be found throughout ethnic fashion.
"As retailers look to us for interior fashion accents, our design team responds with weaves, colorations and motifs that can be beautifully integrated across furnishing styles,” said Shabtai. "With the 2012 collections, our range encompasses an artistic yet fashionable theme much like the one being promoted by the Market.”
The entire selection of new introductions from The Rug Market America design team will be on display in the Suites at Market Square, M-1000A in High Point.
