The 2013 show will be held on a new date and at a new venue, from 25 – 27 September 2013.
Due to the continued expansion of Interior Lifestyle China, the 2013 show will be held on a new date and at a new venue, from 25 – 27 September 2013 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, China.
Interior Lifestyle China, the China International Trade Fair for Household Products and Accessories, organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, was established in 2007 and is a trade fair specializing in middle and high-end household products in China.
Commenting on the new changes for the 2013 show, Mr Evan Sha, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd explained: “The change of venue for our 2013 show will further consolidate Interior Lifestyle China’s position as China's leading lifestyle industry show. In fact during the past six years, the number of overseas exhibitors and brands participating in the show has increased from less than 30 percent in the first edition to more than 70 percent in 2012. This growth reflects the huge potential of the Chinese retail market for lifestyle products and high-end consumer goods and is one of the reasons Interior Lifestyle China continues to attract key international brands.”
He continued: “The change of date also allows for Interior Lifestyle China to be held concurrently with Paperworld China, a major consumer goods show for the stationery industry. Both shows will be able to take better advantage of the major buying season in China. Furthermore, the new venue has facilities to meet the ongoing needs of our expanding show.”
The current 2012 show is the largest ever with 248 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions, including five pavilions supported by the Association of German Trade Fair Industry; the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, Germany; Promos – Milan Chamber of Commerce from Italy; the Hong Kong Trade Development Council; the Taiwan Design Center and Ubifrance.
Market factors help boost show’s continued success
Buoyant market factors are also adding to the show’s success such as the fact that the local interior design industry has been boosted this year by a large increase in the number of new commercial real estate projects. Also having a huge influence on the domestic market are the shifts in consumer attitudes and demographic structure caused by consumers born post 1980-1990s, who have increased spending power.
Overall, figures reveal that the local interior design market continues its rapid growth due to a number of factors such as:
- Shopping malls: To meet consumer demand, most shopping malls have interior designed related stores based on the concept of integrated lifestyle furnishings.
- Department stores: Traditional department stores are stocking high-end, high-tech, environment-friendly and multi-functional interior products. These internationally branded products are resulting in good profits for department stores.
- Independent stores: Small-scale stores are focusing on a certain category of home supplies to meet market demand, while chain stores are making good profits on interior design products because of scale and distribution.
- E-commerce: In 2011, 194 million Chinese consumers shopped online, and the online retail market reached 773.56 billion CNY, a 67.8% increase over last year. It is expected that the online retail market will reach 1,184 billion CNY in 2012.
Mr Sha added: “All these factors are resulting in increased exhibitor and visitor numbers for Interior Lifestyle China because everyone wants to be able to keep up with the demands of the massive Chinese consumer goods market.”
