Bob’s Discount Furniture announced that the company and several of its key employees have received awards from the New York-based Heavenly Productions Foundation in recognition of the company’s support in publishing and distributing inspirational children’s books and CDs to hospitals, schools and other non-profit organizations.
Cathy Poulin, public relations director at Bob’s Discount Furniture, accepted the awards on behalf of herself, Bob’s President and Co-founder Bob Kaufman and Bob’s Outreach Coordinator Sharon Valley at a Nov. 30 foundation event at the Grand Prix New York entertainment center in Mount Kisco, N.Y.
“It’s such an honor to receive this award from the Heavenly Productions Foundation,” said Poulin. “Bob’s is committed to supporting children-related causes across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and it’s been a pleasure to assist foundation Chairwoman Dr. Kathleen Reilly Fallon in her work of helping children in distress.”
Bob’s partnership with Heavenly Productions Foundation began in 2010 when the company sponsored the publishing of the “Heavenly Skies & Lullabies” book, which was used to raise money for children who suffered in Hurricane Katrina. In 2011, the company collaborated with Dr. Fallon to create 1,000 copies of a special Bob’s Discount Furniture edition of “Heavenly Skies and Lullabies”, which include bedtime melodies and lullabies, aimed at helping parents and caregivers create a peaceful and relaxing environment for their children. These books were delivered to the Pajama Program, an organization committed to providing warm pajamas and books to kids around the country, many of whom are waiting for a home.
