The High Point Plaza Hotel and Conference Center, owned and managed by Inner Circle US, reported that it has completed a major lobby renovation that kicks off its total interior overhaul. As High Point’s largest downtown hotel, the property is welcoming many of the city’s major events including guests of the High Point Market (North Carolina’s largest economic event), the North Carolina Association of Rescue and Emergency, and numerous area weddings and social functions.
“Our new lobby is the tip of the iceberg at the High Point Plaza,” says senior vice president of Hotel Operations for Inner Circle US Bob Hietala. “Inner Circle US is investing greatly in our hotel and our city with the intense renovations and upgrades taking place.”
The hotel has also opened the Joke Factory, downtown High Point’s first comedy club, which opened in December with HBO-featured headliner Artie Fletcher. Comedians and entertainers will make regular appearances at the popular club each Friday and Saturday night.

As the city’s only full-service, downtown hotel, the High Point Plaza has invested heavily in its meeting rooms and conference space to encourage increased business. New carpeting, furnishings, and updated multimedia equipment are designed to meet the needs of corporate clients. Increased business at the hotel also brings new job opportunities, and the property is still in the process of hiring. Current openings include front desk and banquet staff, restaurant server, bartender, and housekeeping positions.
