Phillips Collection Brings Free Tesla and EV Charging Stations to High Point, North Carolina

Furniture World News Desk on 4/19/2014

Phillips Collection (www.phillipscollection.com)  announced that  it has brought free EV charging stations to the City of High Point. Located at their headquarters directly off Interstate 85-Business and Surrett Drive, these charging stations are a welcome addition to the green initiatives taking place in the city. The best part, Phillips is offering this as a complimentary service.

Electric vehicles—also known as EVs—are automobiles that are propelled by one or more electric motors, using energy stored in batteries or other energy storage devices. Electric motors give electric cars instant torque, creating strong and smooth acceleration, with ZERO pollution.

Automakers have been steadily introducing EVs to the market. Popular all-electric vehicles like the Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt run on 240-volt connectors, which Phillips Collection has installed in designated spaces. More recently, a new US-based and manufactured company has come into existence with roaring press and success. Tesla Motors has swept the automotive industry by storm. Their attractive Roadster made electric sporty, with 0 to 60 times below 4 seconds. That’s supercar territory. Their Model S redefined luxury and performance their flagship model. The next announced iteration for Tesla is their Model X, a moderate-priced all-electric SUV that is expected to have huge sales.

Phillips Collection has long been a company that is conscious of environmental issues and impact. They are founding members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council and active boosters of both the City of High Point and the State of North Carolina. It was only logical that they be the first to offer free charging stations at their facility.
