Surya reported that it is hosting a number of informative and engaging events at its flagship showroom, Showplace 4100, during the Fall 2014 High Point Market. Attendees will learn about exciting trends in global design, how innovative technologies are opening up new design possibilities and explore the latest in home décor – all within a casual, relaxed setting.

The event line-up includes:

Meet Candice Olson at “Coffee with Candice” | Saturday, Oct. 18 @ 10 a.m.
We’re giving market attendees the chance to ask celebrity designer Candice Olson anything they want about decorating, design and the launch of her new outdoor products. Questions should be submitted to www.surya.com/coffeewithcandice by Friday, Oct. 10. Ten questions will be selected for presentation during an informal Q&A session with the designer. The attendees who submitted the chosen questions will also be invited to participate in a VIP chat with Candice and receive an autographed design book.

How Video is Changing the Design World | Saturday, Oct. 18 @ 2 p.m.
Join founder of The Design Network (TDN), Jason Harris, as he moderates a panel discussion on how video is shifting the paradigm for interior design and home fashion. Panelists will include influential interior designers and TDN stars who are actively embracing the power of video, including Sara Lynn Cauchon, Anne-Marie Barton, Arianne Bellizaire, Lauren Clement and Karen LeBlanc. The TDN team is also offering free personalized Video 101 tutorials in the Surya showroom daily during market.

Global Greats: Home Design’s Creative Hits from a Worldwide Perspective | Sunday, Oct. 19 @ 11 a.m.
Nancy Fire, founder of Design Works International and design director of HGTV HOME, will share the best in worldwide design gleaned from her recent travels in Paris, Amsterdam, London and Wales. Join us for an inside look at the home, fashion and lifestyle designs that will inspire home product ideas in the coming seasons.

Jerry Epperson on “The Evolution of Style and Merchandising” | Sunday, Oct. 19 @ 2 p.m.
Jerry Epperson, founder and managing director of Mann, Armistead & Epperson, Ltd., and leading research authority for the furnishings industry, will share insights on how shifting demographics, changing lifestyles and the advent of new technologies are impacting style and merchandising trends. Jerry will be available at the conclusion of the presentation to sign his new book, 50 Years of Furniture Styling.

Fall Showroom Celebration | Sunday, Oct. 19 @ 6 p.m.
Market attendees are invited to explore Surya’s newest introductions in home accessories while enjoying an open bar and hors d’oeuvres, along with a DJ and dancing.
