Naturepedic Showcased in Environmental Media Association Video Series

Furniture World News Desk on 11/15/2014

Chagrin Falls-based Naturepedic, maker of certified organic mattresses and accessories, reported that it is featured in the debut episode of the video series Great American Search for a Life Less Toxic. The show is produced by the Environmental Media Association (EMA), an organization leveraging the star power of Hollywood actors, producers, writers and other members of the entertainment industry to affect environmental change.

In line with Naturepedic’s continuing efforts in environmental education and advocacy, the company partnered with EMA to produce the show. The first episode of the Great American Search for a Life Less Toxic stars actress Amy Smart (The Butterfly Effect, Justified) and her real-life husband Carter Oosterhouse, host and producer of home improvement reality shows such as Million Dollar Rooms.

Amy and Carter were filmed visiting beautiful downtown Chagrin Falls, Ohio, as well as touring the Naturepedic organic mattress manufacturing plant, one of only two mattress manufacturing facilities in the U.S. independently certified organic and nontoxic to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). While downtown, the celebrity couple met and signed autographs for locals and enjoyed visiting The Popcorn Shop, Gamekeepers Taverne, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and Main Street Cupcakes.

“We are so thrilled to launch our new webseries ‘A Life Less Toxic’ to showcase truly innovative companies and individuals who are making a difference in consumers’ lives,” said Debbie Levin, President, Environmental Media Association. “We knew we had to launch with Barry Cik and Naturepedic, because we spend almost a third of our lives in our beds, but how many of us think about the toxins in our standard mattresses? We hope this series will educate and inspire as we look for new ways to live healthier and environmentally friendly lives.”
