HGTV Host Introduces New Brand Licensing

Furniture World News Desk on 2/25/2015

Donna Moss, the HGTV host and retailer of That's Haute and That's Haute Kids, reported that at the recent Las Vegas Market she began presenting her product and art concepts to potential manufacturing partners for home furnishings, rugs, gifts, and lighting.

The initial product concepts consist Donna’s own original artwork and handcrafted products created by Donna and her haute team along with products that can only be economically produced in mass. With two specific style variations, Donna is sure to please designers, retailers, and manufacturers with two introductory collections. The first collection will be tailored around old world Baroque steeped in glamorous Texas tradition. The second collection is casual chic layered with southern charm combined with fashionable French flair. Both styles are conducive to timeless yet trending runway fashions. Each piece will encourage and inspire all while giving back.

For over 30 years, Donna has personally handcrafted and layered components to create her own customized products and custom built home furnishings through her Texas design firm, Donna Moss Designs. Moss’s HGTV television audience has dubbed her “Queen of Bling,” therefore there will be a lot of blinged out products in both collections. Initially the collections will incorporate her fascination in layering furs, lace, textures and warmth of home with a refined dose of bling. Blending natural components with modern flair, Donna Moss designs are inventive and rich in color and innovative creation.

Donna Moss says of her new brand licensing, “I have always dreamt of giving my fans and television audiences my designs at affordable pricing by mass producing. I only wish I had time to hand-make everything that everyone wanted. I really don’t like saying “no” to orders or my fans for any reason but handmade products aren’t always affordable or accessible for everyone. My viewers have different budgets and taste levels so my team and I have constructed four brands that all include a fair blend from my designer tool kit. Of course, having two granddaughters and another grandbaby in the oven, I just had to develop a children’s collection too. Now, it’s about finding the right manufacturing partners that I can not only license with, but be hands-on wherever I need to be in the world designing products with talented craftsman that can mimic my designs.”

To create the brand and find the appropriate manufacturing partners, Donna is working closely with former designer and gift & home industry branding and marketing consultant Christi Tasker of the company PuTTinOuT.com in Las Vegas.

Christi Tasker states, “I love Donna’s take on life, her genuine passion for inspiring and motivating people and her heart’s desire to give back. I often say that she is my sister from another mister meaning we could have easily been raised under the same roof. Our views on life and values combine with a mirrored work ethic make for a healthy partnership. I’m honored to work with such talent, too. Donna’s style is very much my own look when I was designing daily for homeowners, she just does it better! I am in the process of studying her style and techniques so that I can be her eyes and ears wherever she needs me.”

Moss goes on to say, “My DONNA collection is suited for a ‘bed in the bag’ feel for the DIY homeowner; it will be luxury for the least amount possible. The Donna Moss line will be more mainstream  and suited for the moderate buyer, while the Donna Moss Casa Collection is suited for the high-end luxury buyer. Of course, Donna Moss Kids will be designed specifically for babies to tweens with keeping the style timeless and beautiful. All of my personal brand collections are reflective of my passion for travel and fashionable living; it carries over into everyday life and home design. The release of this new brand allows me to showcase what I give my current design clients -a peaceful retreat with a little twist, a dose of bling, and a bite of Southern comfort ‘wining and dining’ all the way...and I don’t mean whining either.”

“Through assisting Donna in managing her social media over the past several months, we have created a market research product plan to ensure we deliver designs and product conceptions that retailers can turn quickly. Combined with excellent marketing, public relations, and our “Helpful Bling Bank” for giving back to others and Donna’s artisan partners, manufacturers will be fortunate to have her endless creative abilities and her natural ability to sell,” says Christi.
