Arts & Crafts Industries LTD Completes Purchase of Specific Assets of Chromcraft-Revington

Furniture World News Desk on 2/27/2015

Rob Halsten, VP Marketing and Sales for Arts and Crafts Industries reported  that the final portion of Arts & Crafts' purchase agreement to acquire specific assets of Chromcraft Revington was accepted and signed by all parties involved.

Arts & Crafts divisions also include the Douglas and Mastercraft furniture lines.

"Our purchase is for specific assets of Chromcraft-Revington which includes, but is not limited to, the Chromcraft Revington brand names and all intellectual property of Chromcraft, Peters-Revington, Cochrane, Sumter Cabinet and Chromcraft Contract," said Halsten. "This including all product and product designs. With this purchase we are forming a new company that will be named: Chromcraft Revington Douglas Ind. Inc.

"In addition, we have secured a long term agreement for a portion of the former Chromcraft-Revington, Senatobia, Mississippi facility which we will use for manufacturing of the Chromcraft caster dining line, and as a centralized warehouse / distribution center for the Chromcraft, Peters-Revington, Douglas, and Mastercraft Collections brands. This centralized warehouse will permit us to ship our dealers all our brands from the same location. We will be closing our Lexington, NC distribution center when this move is completed. In addition, we will move the bulk of our Ontario warehousing to Mississippi.

"Our move to the Senatobia facility will begin in mid-April. We plan to begin shipping from this location in May," concludes Halsten.

"We realize the importance of “MADE in USA” and it is our intention to manufacture Chromcraft’s caster chairs in Mississippi, utilizing manufactured parts from local domestic suppliers and from our own factories in China.

"Chromcraft's strength has always been letting consumers customize their chairs through a wide offering of fabrics. We will continue this by offering our dealers and their customers an assortment of 40 - 50 fabrics with delivery in 6 – 8 weeks. Our plans are to initially start with custom upholstery and eventually offer some finishing options from the Mississippi facility. Chromcraft is our higher end dining line, its chairs will feature memory foam seating and soft wheel 60mm casters, ideal for hardwood and tile / stone floors. While the Chromcraft chairs will be “MADE in USA”, tables for Chromcraft will be made in our China factory with the same quality construction as our Douglas brand. We will begin shipping our custom Chromcraft upholstery by late May.

"Our Douglas product line will be a married fabric to frame offering with up to two finish options offered. Douglas will be our promotional dining brand. The Douglas product line will to be 100% produced within our factories in China. Douglas will be available from our Mississippi warehouse, or purchased by consolidated container or direct container.

"Peters-Revington gives us a great opportunity to get into the occasional table with a highly recognized brand with loyal dealer following. Our initial assortment will include 14 of Peters-Revington’s bestselling table collections. We will be adding to these assortments with new collections at October market.

"Chromcraft Revington dealers have gone through a very difficult time with the ceasing of Chromcraft’s operations and not knowing if any of these brands would eventually return. We are glad that we have been able to make this purchase a reality and bring these brands back to their dealers," concludes Halsten.
