Furniture World News Desk on 3/22/2015

Organizers of the Furniture Fellowship Prayer Breakfast reported that singer, songwriter, pianist and recording artist Lisa Mitts will present the music at the Furniture Market Prayer Breakfast to be held Friday morning April 17 at 7 a.m. in the International Home Furnishings Center Ballroom.

Mitts, a Seattle resident with a unique contemporary worship sound, also leads a ministry dedicated to helping and restoring victims of trafficking, the “Destiny House Restoration Center.” Mitts produced the gripping music video, “Where Has Love Gone” to raise awareness and motivate the rescue of child victims of sex slavery, which affects over 300,000 children between the ages of 12-17 in the U.S. and millions worldwide. Mitts, who is also a pianist and guitarist, recently released her latest album, “Songbird,” which is dedicated to these forgotten children.

The April 17 Prayer Breakfast will be keynoted by Dr. David Jeremiah, host and speaker for the international, award-winning “Turning Point” radio and television programs, best-selling author and senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, Calif.

In addition to the music and message, industry professionals will participate by reading Scriptures and offering the opening and closing prayers.

Tickets for the event, which is expected to be a sellout, are available now at www.furniturefellowshipbreakfast.com at a cost of $30.00 for an individual, which includes breakfast. You can purchase a table for 10 people for $300 and a half-table for $150. In addition to covering expenses, these funds are directed towards charities.

For reservations, you may also contact Teresa Huffman of Culp. Inc. at TAHuffman@culp.com or 336.888-6281.

The Furniture Fellowship prayer breakfast has been held since 1994 at the opening of the spring international High Point Market. Sponsored by the Furniture Fellowship board, the breakfast is modeled after the National Presidential Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. and is intended to provide an atmosphere for fellowship, worship and prayer and an opportunity to pause collectively as an industry at the beginning of the High Point Market to thank and honor God.
