Gus* Modern Introduces Eco-Friendly Designs At High Point

Gus* Modern, the Canadian home furnishings brand, reported that it will introduce a new furniture collection at the Spring 2015 High Point Market (IHFC | H512). The collection features two eco-friendly sofa designs as well as a selection of functional storage pieces.

The new collection includes the elegant Margot Sofa, a transitional design that features loose back cushions, as well as the Garrison Sofa, a modern take on the classic roll arm silhouette. Both sofas use an eco-friendly synthetic-down upholstery fill, derived from 100% recycled PET plastic. Also launching is the Scandinavian-inspired Mimico storage collection, three multifunctional designs which offer clever storage solutions. Other introductions include the Elk Chair, a unique update on the classic wingback chair and the bevelled Metric Tables, solid wood coffee and end tables intelligently designed to nest with each other.

Not only are we committed to offering modern, timeless design but to do so using, sustainable resources and processes.”

The Spring 2015 High Point introductions from Gus* Modern will include the following:

Garrison Sofa
Taking a modern spin on the classic roll arm sofa, the Garrison features softened angular lines and an ultramodern brass-finished sled base. For maximum comfort, the seat and back cushions are filled with an eco-friendly synthetic-down, derived from recycled PET plastic. The frame is constructed with kiln-dried 100% FSC®-Certified hardwood.

Margot Sofa
The Margot Sofa epitomizes modern elegance with graceful arms, French-seam detailing, and loose, luxurious cushions that give a look which is both timeless and contemporary. Every sofa includes two sets of cylindrical steel legs, allowing you to choose between a brass or black finish to suit your style. The seat and back cushions use a unique, eco-friendly synthetic-down, derived from recycled PET plastic. The frame is constructed with kiln-dried 100% FSC®-Certified hardwood.

Elk Chair
The Elk Chair evokes the classic, wingback chair design and updates it with contemporary materials and bold, organic lines. The sculptural frame features low-profile upholstery and precision-cut, bent-ply seat and back panels. The frame is elevated by slender, powder-coated steel legs.

Mimico Cabinet
Part of the Mimico Series, this cabinet shows a distinctive Scandinavian influence. It’s designed to let you showcase your favourite books or sculptural objects, while providing ample storage to keep everything else tucked out of sight. Sliding doors conceal adjustable shelves, and feature contrasting track and pulls in brass or black finish. The legs are turned, solid wood, and the top surface features a triple-edged surround detail.

Mimico Storage Ottoman
Part of the Mimico Series, this multi-purpose design has a distinctive Scandinavian influence. The Mimico can be used as an ottoman, coffee table, or bench. Perfect for the living room, bedroom or entryway, the upholstered top provides a comfortable seat, and flips up easily to stash clutter. It features a hard surface area to rest your sunglasses or keys while you get ready for the day. The end has an open cubby for displaying books and magazines, and the legs are turned, solid wood.

Mimico End Table
Rounding out the Scandinavian-influenced Mimico Series, the Mimico End Table works perfectly beside a sofa, a chair, or flanking a bed. The table features a convenient single drawer, with contrasting hardware in a brass or black finish. The top surface is uniquely enclosed on three sides, while the turned legs are made of solid wood.

Metric Coffee Table
The Metric Coffee Table is a minimalist, geometric accent, crafted with solid Walnut or Ash. The hexagonal top features a bevelled edge and is designed to nest with the Metric End Table.

Metric End Table
The Metric End Table is a minimalist, geometric accent constructed with solid Walnut or Ash. The hexagonal top features a bevelled edge detail on the underside. This table looks great flanking a sofa or bed. It is designed to nest with the Metric Coffee Table.

Pinstripe Pillows
Our new pillows will add some distinguished style to your space. Available in three felted pinstripe fabrics, these pillows use an eco-friendly synthetic-down, derived from recycled PET plastic.

Gus* will debut all new designs at the High Point Furniture Market in North Carolina from April 18-23, 2015. The Gus* Modern furniture collection is designed in Canada, and is sold at over 150 furniture retailers in North America, South America, Asia, and Australia.
