Bassett Mirror Company Debuting In-Town Portfolio at High Point Market

Furniture World News Desk on 4/16/2015

Furniture and home accent source Bassett Mirror Company reported that it is introducing a wide assortment of stylish, space-saving hospitality cabinets at the April High Point Market April 18-23 as part of its new In-Town portfolio of furniture products created specifically for today's smaller residential interiors.

The In-Town portfolio targets two high-growth demographic segments - first-time homebuyers and empty nesters - who seek fashionable design solutions that easily fit into urban lofts, condominiums, retirement communities and other small settings. In addition to hospitality cabinets, the In-Town program includes a variety of small-scaled occasional tables and dining furniture for an initial offering of about a dozen pieces. Market attendees can view the portfolio at the Bassett Mirror Company showroom located in the International Home Furnishings Center's Green wing, spaces 170 and 001B.

Ninety-five percent of the products being shown this market at the Bassett Mirror Co. showroom, including the In-Town line and introductions in other core categories such as decorative mirrors, framed art and accent furniture, will ship to retailers by Memorial Day.

"The new In-Town portfolio of furniture signals our company's commitment to serving a fast-emerging need in the market with a broad range of design and functionality," said Ron Cepulo, chief marketing officer and senior executive vice president of Bassett Mirror Co. "The In-Town portfolio has two hallmarks - high quality and small scale, and these products will be more affordable because of their size - not because we have sacrificed features and benefits."

The In-Town line should have a broad appeal, from younger consumers just starting out to retirees looking to downsize, Cepulo added. "These pieces have all the style and function for which we're known, with a compact size that's perfect for anyone that's living in or moving to a smaller space," he said.

Hospitality cabinets, a new concept developed specifically for the In-Town program, combine the functionality of a sideboard and the footprint of an accent chest. A felt-lined top drawer includes a bottle opener amenity, and the lower doors open to reveal a shelf, removable tray and tracks for holding stemware.

Many of the cabinets are offered in an assortment of colors that follow today's fashion trends. Finish options include Tiffany Blue, Mackintosh Red and Real Silver Leaf, as well as walnut and other wood tones.

Part of Bassett Mirror's Total Fashion Solution approach, the In-Town portfolio is designed to mix and match with other furniture and home accents in the company's line to create coordinated, fashion-forward lifestyle settings. Suggested retails for the new pieces range from $499 to $999.

"With these introductions, we enhance Bassett Mirror's ability to serve our retailers with stylish, quality products across a range of categories that work together to decorate smaller homes," said Cepulo. "We are developing an exciting merchandising and marketing plan to ensure this new furniture portfolio takes our accent business to the next level."
