Shifman Creates Anniversary Special Edition

Shifman reported to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Benjamin T. Moyer Furniture, Sunbury, Pa, Shifman has created a special version of its two-sided cotton, hand-tufted mattress on a real working box spring. Benjamin T. Moyer will offer them at a special discount during the month of June to commemorate its 80th anniversary.

“I would like to congratulate the Moyer family on their 80 year philosophy of satisfying customers in central Pennsylvania with superior quality and service,” stated Bill Hammer, President. “Even more important than the business we have done together is the relationship that we have enjoyed between our families,” added Mr. Hammer.

“We do everything possible to please our customers,” says Dave Moyer, current store manager and grandson of founder Benjamin, who opened the doors of Moyer Furniture 80 years ago in 1935.

In addition to working with several generations of customers, Dave Moyer cites a business relationship that has stood the test of time. “We have an 80-year relationship with Shifman Mattress Company,” he says. “In fact we sell more Shifman mattresses than anything else in the store.” Like Moyer Furniture, Shifman also enjoys great longevity, having been in business for 122 years.

“My grandfather went to the Shifman factory to see these mattresses being made,” Moyer describes, “My grandparents had a Shifman mattress in their home and they made the decision to sell what they believed to be the best mattresses in the industry.” The mattresses are still handmade in the United States with high quality standards and fine natural materials. “There is just no other mattress like it in the business. Everyone else has changed,” Moyer notes. “Shifman processes its own cotton and hand tufts its mattresses. The materials are all natural, not synthetic. These are the quality products we choose to put in our store,” Moyer adds.
