Tupelo Furniture Market Reports Hotels Filling Up Early

Furniture World News Desk on 7/4/2015

Whether it’s the economy, the housing marketing gaining steam, or employment stabilizing, the Tupelo Furniture Market  reports that the number of early registrations for the August 20-23 show shows great promise. According to producers of the event, hotel reservations are far ahead of schedule and many new retailers and buyers are planning on making the trip to Tupelo, Mississippi this fall.

“Thus far, we are on pace to out perform last year’s market event, but we’ve done that somewhat consistently for the last few years, said Kevin J. Seddon, president of the furniture market. “We have an extensive database of retailers that we market to aggressively and we track the attendance of every one of them from year-to-year and market-to-market. Through the month of June, we have found a significant increase in registrations of furniture buyers for mid-size and larger furniture retail operations. This is good news, but the fact that we are also confirming that they have booked their hotel rooms and flights already, makes us confident these larger retail store buyers will be in Tupelo in August!”

Seddon explained that in the last 12 to 18 months, at least 100 new companies have showcased their product in Tupelo – many for the first time. Because most will again exhibit this fall and because attrition has decreased, he expects a full-house. This fact, plus a definite increase in attendance, means that furniture retailers planning on attending in August should get a head start on booking their rooms and flights.

“We have great relationships with every hotel in the region and there are rooms still available,” said Seddon. “But, finding a room later in July may be difficult, so we encourage everyone interested in securing hotel rooms to contact our offices as soon as possible and we will make sure they get a good room at a fair price.”

The Tupelo Furniture Market is one of the oldest and largest national furniture trade events in the United States and is held twice each year in Tupelo, Mississippi. The market facility’s 2.5 million square feet is all under one roof and will house more than 500 companies showcasing thousands of furniture and accessory products.
