Chris Price and Dan White

The Board of Directors of Norwalk Furniture reported that it has named Dan White as Interim CEO and Chris Price as Interim President following the planned retirement of Mike Kenney who has served as President for two years.

White and Price have an extensive history with Norwalk Furniture. Both were part of the local group of families that stepped forward in 2008 to revive a community cornerstone and to set it on a new, solid foundation as Norwalk Custom Order Furniture. White initially served as Interim President of the company following the reorganization. Both have continually been board members, with Price recently serving as Board Chairman.

“Mike served our company for nearly 30 years. We thank him for his leadership and wish him all the best,” White says. “Under his leadership as president, we moved to a new, larger showroom in a premier location in IHFC’s Main wing at the High Point Market, implemented a new ERP system and maintained Norwalk’s aggressive growth.

“He has decided it is time for a new life and we are grateful for his 28 years of service,” he says. “Mike leaves behind a strong management team, which includes Carrie Norris, executive vice president; Tim Hallock, vice president of manufacturing; and our design and merchandising firm, HB2, headed by Dixon Bartlett and Caroline Hipple.”

Norwalk Furniture currently employs 177 people and operates in a 440,000 sq. ft. facility designed to ship nearly custom products in 35 days or less.

“Our mission statement is to do whatever it takes to better serve our customers and it takes a special leader to understand the depth of our commitment to work from the heart to create products for homes across the U.S.,” White says. “Chris and I look forward to leading Norwalk in the interim, until we find the right leader for this very special company that is preserving the tradition of furniture made in America.”
