American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation Announces New Location For October Induction Ceremony

Furniture World News Desk on 4/27/2016

The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation recently announced that the Hall Of Fame Foundation Induction Celebration will move to a larger venue in order to accommodate the growing demand for tickets. This year’s celebration will take place in the Guilford Ballroom at the Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons on October 23 during the High Point Market.

Last year’s celebration drew a record turnout of members and their guests, resulting in a sold-out event attended by more than 800 people. “Tickets were in such demand last year that we’re relocating to a ballroom that can accommodate up to 2,400 guests,” says Michael Amini, president of the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc.

“It’s a magnificent space,” adds Amini. “A grand evening deserves to be celebrated in an equally impressive setting, and the Sheraton’s Guilford Ballroom is just such a venue.”

The 40,000-square-foot space features hand-laid, rosewood parquet floors and dramatic 32-foot ceilings. The Guilford Ballroom is one of the largest column-free ballrooms on the East Coast, and that type of design provides each guest with an ideal view of the permanent, Broadway-size stage. “We are finalizing plans for an impressive line-up of entertainers for the evening,” says Amini, “so making sure that every person has a fantastic seat was a top priority. It promises to be the Oscar event of the home furnishings industry.

Being able to add to the number of seats was the prime reason for the move. “It’s the signature event of the industry,” says Amini, “and we don’t ever want to tell anyone that they can’t attend because we don’t have any more tickets. We welcome everyone who wants to join and support the Hall of Fame and its important work of preserving the history of our industry.”

The annual event celebrates the formal induction of industry leaders into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame. The Foundation will announce in June the names of those being honored in October.

“This year’s Induction Celebration promises to be another magical night of inspiration,” says Amini, “and we’re pleased and excited that even more people will be able to attend and enjoy the evening, as we gather as an industry to honor those who have contributed so much over the course of their careers.”

The Presenting Sponsor for the celebration is Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc., with The Lacquer Craft Companies serving as a Celebration Sponsor and the International Market Centers as the Cocktail Sponsor. Other title sponsorships are still available.
