New Introductions From Capel Rugs

Powered by new products from its licensed designers and an assortment of special promotions and showroom amenities, Capel Rugs reports that it had a strong High Point Market this month with both attendance and written orders.

The first two days of market was up 41% from last April's High Point Market. Written orders also showed healthy increases, as retailers responded positively to a wide range of new designs.

"Business has been a bit tough for many retailers, so they came into our showroom looking for new products that offer value and a fresh look," said Cameron Capel, vice president of national accounts. "As a result, we had a really fantastic market with active placements across the line."

Seeking to arm retailers with the new products they need to spark business in the spring and summer selling seasons, Capel Rugs introduced a variety of new designs at the April 16 to 20 High Point Market.

"Buyers loved the look and feel of Ashland and Shalimar Resist, and the new on-trend colors added to Filigree, burwell green, grey and indigo, also were very well received," Capel said.

Also drawing rave reviews from retailers was Kevin O'Brien's new machine woven Caravan collection. Made of 100% olefin, the six patterns convey "great depth and texture that is unusual for a flat woven product," said Capel. Priced at $399 for a 5'3" x 7'6", this collection scored big points for its value, she added.
