Massoud Announces Appointments For New Manufacturing And Product Development Posts

Dallas-based upholstered furniture manufacturer Massoud recently announced a series of senior level staff appointments designed to further enhance factory and product development efficiencies. Upholstery industry veteran Luis G. Santamaria joins the company in the newly created post of Vice President of Manufacturing. In addition, Clint Barber been promoted to the new Vice President of Product Development position. Santamaria and Barber report directly to Massoud CEO Chuck Massoud.

With extensive experience and a proven track record reducing costs, increasing production and improving quality, Santamaria will oversee all aspects of Massoud's daily plant manufacturing/operations management - from engineering and production to manufacturing and shipping. Santamaria comes to Massoud from American Leather Inc. where he held the position of Product/Plant Manager for the past 6 years, overseeing all manufacturing and process improvements for the multi-million dollar furniture manufacturer. Previously, he was American Leather's Senior Continuous Improvement Manager. Before coming to American Leather, he was Regional Sales Director and National Corporate Account Manager for Mexicana Airlines where he carried out sales territory development and managed corporate sales growth for the airline in the US and Canada. He has an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Texas, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Venezuela's Universidad Tecnologica del Centro, and Lean Bronze Certification from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Clint Barber assumes the new role of Vice President of Product Development. With Massoud for more than 20 years, Barber has been promoted from his previous position as Plant Manager. With years of hands-on experience and a keen understanding of the company's product, factory flow, operations, and engineering strategies, Barber will now lead Massoud's product development direction and processes. He will work closely with Santamaria and the other members of Massoud's Executive team, CEO Chuck Massoud, Kelley Massoud, Vice President of Marketing and Tonya Fischer, Vice President of Merchandising, to further enhance Massoud's extensive customization options and bring new introductions to the marketplace that effectively respond to industry trends and customer preferences.
