Celadon Art Returns To High Point Market

Furniture World News Desk on 9/23/2016

CELADON recently announced that it is returning to the High Point Market this October 22-26 after an eight year hiatus with a new showroom on the Mezzanine level of the Suites at Market Square (SAMS) at space M3040.

From its humble beginnings in 1983, when Mr. Scottie MacLennan, a former manager and buyer for Pier I Imports, parlayed his experiences with those of Mr. Lexie Tynan, who previously owned and operated a toy import business in Ireland, to create Celadon Imports, the company has become a powerhouse that designs and manufactures stunning artwork for residential and hospitality markets. Originally an importer of goods mostly from the United Kingdom, CELADON specialized in accessories from various British manufacturers, as well as, from the Pacific Rim. “The art came originally as a supplement to our
giftware line”, remarks MacLennan. “And as they say, ‘necessity is the mother of Scottie MacLennan invention’, we began manufacturing our own artwork purely to solve a supply side dilemma.”

Now 33+ years later the company designs and publishes its own art, creates and accents its artworks with gilding and raising techniques; its range of product has grown and now includes a selection of several thousand framed prints, canvas art, and mirrors. The company offers a diverse selection ranging from Abstract to Traditional to Contemporary, most of which are exclusive to the company. Its designers successfully anticipate changing trends in the home and hospitality décor industries, creating products that are fresh looking, distinctive and uniquely Celadon.

Having had tremendous success at last month’s Toronto Gift Fair, management at CELADON is confident the design industry will be wowed with the company’s new introductions at the High Point Market next month. Several of the company’s newest and best-selling designs will be on display including signature pieces from the its contemporary collections, as well as artworks with a vintage look; and from its Modern Farmhouse Collection new designs including “Wooly Stare”, one of several statement pieces in a clean minimal white frame. Visitors to the High Point showroom will also see many designs from the company’s PATENTS Collection, featuring actual patent drawings for a host of recognizable products including the: Slinky Toy, Lego Man, Edison Light Bulb, Harley Davidson Motorcycle, riding saddle, and the Monopoly board game, just to name a few.
