Charles Johnson Joins NEHDS Logistics as President/COO

NEHDS announced recently that Charles Johnson has joined the company to oversee daily operations and further develop the growing portfolio of regional and national accounts. Charles comes to NEHDS with a wealth of industry experience, having spent the previous 13 years with Diakon Logistics where he oversaw all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Charles joins NEHDS as President/COO to help lead the company’s continued success providing first-class services in final-mile delivery and warehousing to some of the world’s most recognizable retailers. Charles comments, “I am both proud and honored to be joining NEHDS as its President/COO. Gerry and his team have built an amazing logistics company in a very short time and now dominate the Northeast region of the country. I look forward to working with Gerry and the other senior management members to continue the growth and success of NEHDS nationwide. My wife and I are excited about relocating to the beautiful state of Connecticut and our family becoming part of the NEHDS family.”

Charles’ background includes more than 31 years of diverse business experience in the areas of operations, finance, accounting and administration. Prior to joining Diakon Logistics, Charles spent more than eight years in investment banking advising companies on mergers, acquisitions and capital sourcing. Previous to his career in investment banking, Charles served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of a telecommunications company and national food service distributor. He started his career with the Assurance Practice of Coopers & Lybrand. In addition to his professional achievements, Charles currently serves on the Board of Directors of Becky’s Fund, an organization dedicated to eliminating domestic violence. Charles received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Drexel University.
