Specialty bedding manufacturer Classic Brands reports that it has named experienced bedding sales executive Brian O’Neill vice president of sales. With more than 24 years of experience in bedding sales and marketing for leading mattress brands Sealy, Serta Simmons and Tempur-Pedic, O’Neill has now joined Classic Brands.

In his new role with Classic Brands, O’Neill will oversee the company’s domestic sales efforts.
“Brian rounds out our growing sales management team, which will continue to support our growth. A proven sales leader, he will be a great asset,” said Michael Zippelli, CEO of Classic Brands. “His sales acumen is unmatched in the mattress industry, and we look forward to having him as a leading ambassador for Classic Brands’ wide portfolio of sleep products, best-in-class supply chain and high retail margins.”

Prior to joining Classic, O’Neill was vice president of business development for Serta Simmons Bedding. In addition to his 17 years in the wholesale side of the industry, O’Neill has seven years of retail experience with bedding giants Chicago-based Back to Bed and Sleepy Hollow Sleep Shop in Youngstown, Ohio.
O’Neill’s appointment finds him joining a team that already includes industry veteran J.P. Ledoux, who has been vice president of key accounts for Classic Brands since 2016, and also follows the recent hire of another well-connected industry sales executive, Mark Owen. Owen was recently named executive vice president of sales and business development for Classic.

“I’m extremely happy to be part of this dynamic global team,” O’Neill said. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to add value to a successful business model that other vendors – even the largest in the category – can’t replicate. For more than two decades, Classic Brands has been quietly selling innovative mattresses and accessories and delivering these products through an efficient and proprietary supply chain.”

A cum laude graduate of Youngstown State University’s Williamson School of Business, O’Neill lives in Atlanta.
