Universal Furniture's Paradox Debuts at High Point

Universal Furniture recently announced the debt of their new Paradox collection, a light, contemporary furnishings story told in striking shapes, stone accents and herringbone veneers.

Clean contemporary forms are complemented with sleek, white ash veneers to produce a stunning collection defined by simple case pieces, mineral-striped stone accents and wide-plank herringbone veneers. Designs feature a dynamic interplay of wood, stone, brushed metal and glass. Although it leans contemporary, Paradox works well in transitional spaces.

Brushed stainless hardware bounces off the Ivory finish in opposing shapes of substantial bars and simple knobs.

Dining

• A 54-inch-wide round table features herringbone veneers on its face, supported by a four-sided, wooden pedestal base.
  
  
• A rectangular dining table (87 inches x 38 inches) comes with either a stone or wooden plank top supported by u-shaped stainless legs.
  
  

Bedroom

• The Axiom is a three-panel, herringbone veneer headboard with intermittent spacing. What appears to be three separate panels, is actually secured by a bottom stretcher, giving the illusion of a floating headboard.
  
  
• A box-shaped nighstand framed in stainless and topped with glass features a two-drawer box perched on a bottom shelf, as if placed there temporarily.
  
  
• A small-scale dressing chest (49 inches wide by 41 inches high) , a new configuration for Universal, presents an asymmetrical mixture of small and wide drawers with simple stainless knob hardware, on a stainless steel base.

Entertainment

• A low-slung wooden entertainment module gains attention with seeded-glass doors fronted with a stainless steel, herringbone grill.
  
  
• The Decorcum Armoire is a standout with herringbone planked doors and large, long bar hardware. Five interior shelves.
