Furniture World News Desk on 4/17/2018

Century Furniture, LLC recently announced that industry veteran Chuck Auten has joined its management team as Vice President of Merchandising.

Chuck comes to Century from Rochdale Spears a Hong Kong based fine furniture manufacturer with factories in Vietnam that has been a long standing vendor to Century. At Rochdale Spears Chuck had been Vice President of Merchandising since 2011. Prior to that, he was COO of Sherrill Wood Division responsible for their CTH and Hickory White brands. At Century Chuck will be directly responsible for merchandising of Century’s casegoods and outdoor divisions. He will also play an important role in the upholstery product direction and overall strategic growth of the company.

“We are excited to have Chuck Auten on Century’s team. Chuck is a respected individual in our industry with a high level of integrity and expertise. We will be relying on Chuck’s account relationships and broad understanding of the retail and design landscape to lead our product teams forward. Though Chuck is making a lifestyle change back to a US based company, it is exciting to imagine how his relationship and experience with one of the finest manufacturers in Asia, Rochdale Spears, can contribute to our growth,” said Alex Shuford, III, President of Century and CEO of Rock House Farm Family of Brands.

A graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design with a degree in Furniture Design, Chuck currently lives in Claremont, NC with his wife, and three sons.
