Richard Frinier’s Studio Collection Of Sunbrella Fabrics To Debut At Showtime Market

Furniture World News Desk on 12/7/2016

Subrella recently announced that furniture and textile designer Richard Frinier found inspiration for his latest collection of Sunbrella fabrics from urban studios and lofts. The Studio Collection includes essences of wide open spaces, high ceilings and walls of glass that allow natural light to fill a room. Frinier’s inspired designs are set to debut during December Showtime in High Point.

“We mused over the trend toward a return to the urban lifestyle, and worked to capture some of the elements of that architectural style as well as its interesting layers and textures in the constructions, patterns and color ways of the Studio Collection,” Frinier said.

One of the hallmarks of modern urban living is the creation of original and unexpected living spaces carved from places designed for other purposes. Frinier pulled from this dichotomy for the Studio Collection. “I am passionate about developing new constructions and evolving and refining existing constructions in new and interesting ways,” he said.

The result is the Studio Collection, a refined yet approachable mix of graphic grid and linear patterns presented in neutral shades, with interesting layers and textures. Designed to be mixed and matched for myriad of easy-to-style textile design solutions, these fabrics subtly capture the infusion of beauty and practicality inherent in today’s urban spaces.

A lightweight construction accented with the artisanal appearance of a hand-weave, Space is a soft, modern basic and textural weave available in Indigo, Shade, Stone, Umber, Sage, Hemp, Flax, Mushroom, Basalt and White.

Studio, an evolution of Frinier’s popular Chino Twill textile design, is woven with chenille yarns to create a luxurious loft with a new diagonal pattern in an array of soft and tonal textures. Studio is available in Indigo, Shade, Umber, Sage, Hemp, Flax, Stone, Sky, Basalt, Vellum and White.

Featuring perfectly imperfect and uniquely striated textural characteristics, Urban exemplifies the dramatic appeal of performance fabrics designed with an artisan’s sensibility. It is offered in Indigo, Slate, Shade, Umber, Flax, Basalt and Vellum.

Graphic illustrates the softer side of modern lifestyles and living spaces with a raised grid pattern inspired by the energy of city dwelling. It is available in Indigo, Marine Stone, Shade, Umber, Sage, Granite, Hemp, Basalt and Vellum.

Used individually or as correlates to one another, City and Cityscape present distinctive and balanced grid patterns in a reversible jacquard weave, embracing the complex and compelling network that links people and places together. Both fabrics are available in Indigo, Stone, Shade, Hemp, Flax and Basalt.

Duck Stripe, a classic box weave and pinstripe pattern to complement Frinier’s existing Duck construction for Sunbrella, is offered in Classic, Vintage, Dusk, Sunset, Mesa, Sky, Spring, Sail and Salt.

The Studio Collection by Richard Frinier for Sunbrella is available to the manufacturing trade only.
