Industry Veteran Bill Cubberley Takes Helm At Spectra Home

Furniture World News Desk on 1/16/2017

Spectra Home, the stationary upholstered furniture division of Shayne International Holdings, Ltd., has recently announced that industry veteran Bill Cubberley has been named president.  The company will show for the first time at the Las Vegas Market this week, inside the Palatial Furniture showroom, in Building A, Space 1052.

Cubberley, who has been tapped to expand Spectra Home’s presence in furniture stores across the country, is the former president of Nathan Furniture, an upscale British case goods maker. Recognized throughout the industry as a savvy marketer with a knack for business development, his career spans some four decades, with turns at Royal Patina, A-America, and Orient Express. He is best known for his long-held role as senior vice president of sales and marketing at Stanley Furniture.

“I’m very excited to assume this new role at Spectra Home, and to be able to introduce the brand—long a private-label, fashion-house—to independent furniture dealers,” Cubberley says. “Spectra Home is a brand right for the times, particularly in light of consumers’ growing interest in quality furniture. Everything we produce is bench built, 8-way hand-tied, with spring down core cushions, and either feather or down or blend-down backs. This is furniture with a luxurious look and feel typically associated with specialty retailers and catalog houses, sans the outrageous price tags. Shoppers can feel the difference and they immediately recognize the value.”

Executives expect the Marche Chair to be the star of the Winter Market, distinguished as it is with wood turnings finished in either espresso or light oak. With a striking silhouette that engages the eye from every angle, Marche is upholstered in a cotton/linen blend.
