Michael Weiss adds New Case & Upholstery For Vanguard

At the April 2017 High Point Furniture Market, Michael Weiss will add several pieces to his Modern Classics collection. Since his 2001 launch with Vanguard, Weiss has prevailed as a leader in modern furniture design. Clean lines, architectural simplicity, and a reverence for the rich history of classic modern style define his signature style. Michael continues to refine his technique of mixing diverse design influences into a dynamic presentation of stand-alone “character” pieces, which complement each other in form, style and function.
This April, Weiss will be adding approximately 24 new pieces. There are about a dozen new upholstered pieces including a stunning channel bed, a geometric daybed and ovoid shaped ottomans in three sizes—each circumnavigated with exotic nailheads. He will introduce another dozen Casegoods in his signature style, many of which appear to be floating in air.
Weiss says, “I’m excited to see Vanguard build on its core manufacturing competencies in both finish and fabric. Many of my upholstery designs feature exposed wood frames that can be customized in the more than 70 standard finishes Vanguard offers, along with nailhead trims, highlight striping and leafing options.”
