Oklahoma Retailer Frank Bruno Jr. Passes

Furniture World News Desk on 4/27/2017

Frank Bruno Jr., recently passed away at the age of 92. Mr. Bruno was the owner of Bruno's Home Furnishings in Oklahoma City.  The 35,000 foot store, which he opened with his wife Xochitl Bruno in 1958, and later run by his daughter Gina Bruno-Dunn, closed in 2010.

According to his Obituary, "Frank was an amazing storyteller, amateur photographer, accomplished accordionist, dedicated tennis-player and occasional ski-boat driver. And while his list of skills could go on for pages, one thing he never quite mastered was joke-telling. Although he always found his way to the punch line, most of us were already bent over howling at the several attempts it often took to land the joke. From his earliest OKC roots where he worked at the family grocery store alongside his mother Sylva Lois Minton Bruno and adored older brother James, to his ardent love for all-things Oklahoma sports, Frank was in many regards, the unofficial "Mr. Oklahoma"."

He is survived by his three children, Tony, Mark and Gina;  and seven grandchildren.
