Hooker Furniture Warehouse Sale Raises More Than $40,000 To Benefit Local Community Organizations

Hooker Furniture recently held a warehouse sale with all proceeds benefitting Grace Network and the Salvation Army of Martinsville-Henry County. The sale, which was held at the company’s customer service center located at 8761 A.L. Philpott Hwy in Martinsville, Va., raised $41,386, which was split equally between the two charities. All furniture sold was donated by the company.


“Our warehouse sale has quickly become one of our most popular charitable initiatives in our community,” said Paul B. Toms, chairman and chief executive officer of Hooker Furniture Corp. “Our community looks forward to this bi-annual sale not only because it provides them with the opportunity to purchase quality furniture at a discounted rate, but also because it supports the many charitable foundations in our local area. Because finding a great deal also helps those in need, it’s a win-win for everyone.”


Hooker Furniture employees as well as volunteers from the community contributed to promoting and helping at the event where Martinsville residents were invited to shop deals on bedroom, dining room, home office, home entertainment, upholstery and other accent pieces.


Grace Network aids its clients who have fallen into a financial crisis connect with resources in the community to find financial well-being through education and job resources. Some of the funds will also help with purchasing items for the nonprofit’s food pantry. Proceeds for the Salvation Army support its mission of supporting the community through its many programs and ministries.
