Furniture World News Desk on 12/4/2017

United Furniture, manufacturer of upholstered and case goods, recently announced that it will open a New York distribution center guaranteeing speedy delivery throughout Northeast markets.

Attendees at the Northeast Furniture & Accessory Market, held Jan. 7 and 8 in Edison, N.J., will be among the first to hear details from company representatives about the new Metro Express program due to launch Jan. 1. Living room furniture manufactured at the company’s factories in North Carolina, Mississippi and California will be shipped to United Furniture’s new distribution center in Mount Vernon, N.Y. for deliveries in the metro area.

“There is a trend toward faster delivery times in the industry and this new program will help us better serve our Northeast retail partners,” said United Furniture Vice President Joe Rosenberg, who is directing the new initiative. “Our best sellers will be available for next-day pickup or delivery within five days.”

More about United Furniture: United Furniture is one of the larger American furniture companies with 10 factories nationwide and is exclusive U.S. manufacturer of Simmons Upholstery and Hide-a-Bed sofas. By the end of the year, United Furniture is expected to acquire another legacy brand of the industry, Lane Company, from the Heritage Home Group.
