Retailer American Furniture Warehouse Completes Upgrade to STORIS' Vision R8

STORIS Management Systems, a leading supplier of Retail Solutions and Services for Big Ticket retailers, announced that American Furniture Warehouse (AFW) has successfully completed a smooth conversion to STORIS’ Vision R8 platform. The Top 100 furniture retailer has over 1,000 users running on the latest release R8.7.

American Furniture Warehouse (AFW) has been a STORIS partner for over 19 years. Jake Jabs, Owner of AFW states, “Partnership is the key word. I feel AFW and STORIS have grown together over the years. AFW was the beta site for the highly anticipated R8.7. They set the bar high with their conversion, successfully completing the process quickly. “Our team of technical experts spent countless hours developing the numerous enhancements included in R8.7,” stated David Berger, Director of Product Management at STORIS. “We’re thrilled with the results.”

Jabs and AFW are also happy with the outcome of the conversion. “Nothing beats a stable system. When a stable system gets better, it maintains peace of mind while empowering people to find even more efficient ways to do their work. We genuinely like the people at STORIS and trust them,” affirms Jabs.  

Tony Mitchell, Vice President of AFW continues, “Salespeople can enter orders much faster. Every department has more information available in fewer screens. It has also drastically reduced our training time for new employees. And it looks great too!”

AFW is currently utilizing R8.7’s new enhancements to the eCommerce product, eSTORIS. Additionally, they’re benefiting from the Credit Application product, which is integrated with STORIS’ credit reporting capabilities to reference credit reports and scores.

AFW will also be optimizing their purchasing decisions with the new Merchandising features. This new enhancement offers the retailer the ability to classify merchandise as “marked down” for clearance or promotional purposes, as well as indicating discontinued products and individual markdown prices at specific locations. 

Jabs concludes, “It was time to make the conversion to R8.7. Business has been really good and our timing was perfect. The idea was to do more, with less overhead and smarter systems. It’s worked out really well for us.”
