Ethan Allen reported that the company's Chairman, President and CEO Farooq Kathwari joined the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County to celebrate the grand opening of the Ethan Allen Design Center in Lynnwood, Washington, on October 6, 2011, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a fundraising event for Housing Hope, a local charity.
"This Design Center is really the model for our continued expansion both in the United States and internationally," said Mr. Kathwari, "and it is the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest."
Guests mingled, toured the new state-of-the-art Design Center, and its room displays of Ethan Allen’s newest products, and took part in a silent auction including furnishings from Ethan Allen’s 5 signature lifestyles. The event raised more than $2000 for Housing Hope which provides a wide range of housing opportunities for those in need in Snohomish County.
Mr. Kathwari noted that Ethan Allen has been part of the American landscape for nearly 80 years, "and every community we are a part of is important to us. We are pleased to have had such a positive response from our friends in Lynnwood and we look forward to continuing the expansion of our Design Center network in the months ahead."
Ethan Allen plans to open new Design Centers in Miami, Florida; Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and several locations in China in 2012.
