Leading independent mattress manufacturer, Gold Bond, announced that its Cool Response Gel collection will feature CertiPUR-US® approved flexible polyurethane foam materials and carry the CertiPUR-US certification seal.  Part of company’s EcoSense line of eco-friendly, made in the USA mattresses, Cool Response Gel delivers the luxurious, shape-conforming, cooling feel of gel with “Gold Bond value” that supports the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) philosophy.

“As more and more consumers become environmentally conscious, the materials used in the products they buy become equally as important,” said Gold Bond President Bob Naboicheck. “The CertiPUR-US seal offers consumers looking for eco-friendly sleep products the confidence of knowing that some of the components used to make the collection is not only cooling and comfortable but has passed strict environmental, health and safety standards.”

Cool Response Gel features enhanced specifications over competing gel products at the same price point, and provides greater value through its thicker construction, higher gel content and use of quality fabrics. With its CertiPUR-US certification, consumers can sleep soundly knowing that their mattress contains flexible polyurethane foam and gel that has been tested and certified by an independent laboratory to meet specific criteria for physical performance, indoor emissions and environmental stewardship.

The CertiPUR-US program is a voluntary testing, analysis and certification program that was developed by members of the global foam industry in response to an increase in substandard imported foams. Items that carry the CertiPUR-US seal contain flexible polyurethane foam products that have been tested and certified by an independent laboratory to be sure they meet the strict standards of the CertiPUR-US program for physical performance, indoor emissions and environmental stewardship.

Mattresses made with materials that carry the CertiPUR-US seal may be marketed as providing low emission (VOC’s) for indoor air quality and made without ozone depleting CFCs, PBDE fire retardant, formaldehyde, prohibited phthalates, mercury, lead and heavy metals.

This latest addition to the five-model EcoSense lineup offers a unique open-cell gel foam construction that blends the comfort properties of gel with the support and resiliency of latex. It features a new polymer that has been designed to be cooler, more durable, and to circulate airflow more quickly, helping to increase blood flow and oxygen around the body and remove body heat quicker than other foams. The line offers three models ranging in price from $1,099 to $1,499 in queen.
