Summer And Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association Elects New Officers

The Summer and Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association elected its 2002-2003 officers at its annual meeting in Chicago last week. Dudley K. Flanders, president and chief executive officer of Lloyd/Flanders Industries in Fort Smith, Ark., is serving as president. Merv Conn of Minson Corp. in Montebello, Calif., is first vice president, and Rory Rehmert of Meadowcraft in Birmingham, Ala., is second vice president. Gary McCray of Laneventure Furniture Company in Conover, N.C., has moved to chairman of the SCFMA board. The association also elected the following new members to its board of directors: Ken Burrows, Terra Furniture, City of Industry, Calif.; Bill Echols, Brown Jordan International, Pompano Beach, Fla.; Dougan Clarke, The Ultimate Umbrella Co., Miami; Erwin Gremmer, Tropitone Furniture, Irvine, Calif.; John Mulholland, Rock Wood Casual Furniture, Niagra Falls, N.Y.; Lou Rosebrock, Winston Furniture/BJI, Pompano Beach, Fla.; and Paul Varshney, Suncoast Aluminum Furniture, Fort Myers, Fla. The Summer & Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association and the American Furniture Manufacturers Association are headquartered in High Point, N.C. – the furniture capital of the world – and together represent more than 200 leading U.S. furniture manufacturers and an additional 250 suppliers to the industry. About 80 of those manufacturers produce summer and casual products.
