AFMA Finance Division Elects New Officers and Directors

The Finance Division of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association (AFMA) announced the election of officers and directors to the Division Board of Directors. The elections were held at the Division Annual Meeting, June 11-13 in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Division Officers for the 1998 - 1999 term are as follows: Sam D. George, Jr., Vice President-Finance for Alexvale Furniture, Inc. in Taylorsville, NC will serve as Division President. William S. Creekmuir of LADD Furniture Inc. in Greensboro, NC will serve the division as First Vice President. Boyd C. Wilson, Jr. of Kincaid Furniture Company in Hudson, NC will serve as Second Vice President. Former Division President Thomas R. Lyons, Vice President Finance for Universal Furniture Industries Inc. in High Point, NC moves to the position of Chairman of the Board for the division. New members joining the division Board of Directors are D. Paul Dascoli of Thomasville Furniture Industries, Dale Spencer of Charleston Forge and Kurt L. AFMA is a nonprofit, volunteer organization for U.S. furniture manufacturers, with 350 corporate members representing 150,000 employees and more than 75% of domestic and global shipments of U.S. furniture. Headquartered in High Point, North Carolina, the world's furniture capital, AFMA maintains a Washington, DC office to represent the interests of the furniture industry on legislative and regulatory affairs to the government.
