A unique Canadian Pavilion featuring Canadian furniture manufacturers will be featured for the first time at the Northwest Home Furnishings Show, February I I - 14, 2000, held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. The new marketing event was announced by Helen Raiswell, Associate Business Development Officer for the Canadian Consulate General in Seattle and Mike Dean, president of Western Exhibitors, producer of the trade show. "Canadians are anticipating this new venture, the only furniture trade event in the Northwest and British Columbia," said Raiswell. "Canadian furniture manufacturers can take advantage of this special event that will provide them with exposure to Pacific Northwest furniture retailers and potential sales representatives," she said. "Further, it is a remarkable opportunity for them to benefit from the low Canadian dollar and to increase their export sales to the U.S.," she added. The Canadian Pavilion, to be featured prominently at the winter show, is expected to offer upholstery, case goods, lamps, lighting fixtures and a broad range of mirrors and decorative accessories. Now doubled in size, the Northwest Home Furnishings Show is being promoted widely by advertising and direct response mail throughout the U.S. Northwest and Canada, according to Joan Stockton, show manager.
