La-Z-Boy, the nation’s leading manufacturer of upholstered furniture, recently announced two key staff promotions. Kim Roussey has been promoted to director of customer services and Chip Stewart has been named southeast regional sales manager. Kim Roussey – Director of Customer Services: Promoted from her previous position as manager of corporate information technology network services, Roussey is now responsible for directing the dealer services, dealer services support and consumer services departments. She also will work closely with the La-Z-Boy manufacturing service centers. Roussey reports directly to Vivian K. Kovenich, vice president of customer services. "Kim’s knowledge and expertise in the customer services area is invaluable," said Kovenich. "She is well-prepared to succeed in this new role." Roussey has 20 years of service-oriented experience and joined La-Z-Boy in 1980 from Ralph Thayer Mazda, where she was an office manager assistant. Roussey earned a bachelors degree in business from Siena Heights University. She lives in Monroe, Mich., with her two children. Chip Stewart - Southeast Regional Sales Manager: Stewart has been promoted to southeast regional sales manager, from national accounts sales manager. In his new position, he will maintain responsibility for select national accounts and oversee sales and marketing efforts in eight states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida, and supervising the region’s 20 sales representatives. He reports directly to Ken Salm, national sales manager for La-Z-Boy. "Chip’s superior handling of our national accounts business made him a natural choice for this position," said Salm. "We are confident the southeast region will perform well under his careful guidance. Stewart began his career with La-Z-Boy in 1999. Prior to joining La-Z-Boy, he spent two years with Riverside Furniture, where he held the position of national accounts manager; he spent three years with BenchCraft Furniture in national accounts, and 14 years with the Simmons Company. Stewart earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Georgia. He lives in Atlanta, Ga., with his wife and two children.
