Brian Dennis McCarthy, PROFITSystems President, Dead At 62

Brian Dennis McCarthy, 62, died suddenly Wednesday, January 19, 2005. He was born on January 3, 1943 in Warrensburg, New York. He grew up in both Warrensburg and in Glens Falls, New York. Brian attended the Air Force Academy, graduated from Fairfield University, Connecticut, and received an MBA from Columbia School of Business. At the time of his death, Brian was President of PROFITsystems, a software company located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He began working at PROFITsystems in 1990 and led the company with honesty and integrity. Additionally, he served on PROFITsystems’ Board of Directors and was a frequent contributor to Western Reporter, Home Furnishings Retailer, Furniture World and Furniture Today, among many other furniture industry publications. Brian was an avid sportsman. His many hobbies included flying, skiing, fishing, hunting, scuba diving, and water skiing. He loved literature, good music, and great food. Brian treated everyone he met like family. Accordingly, his personal and professional families will miss him greatly. Brian is survived by his father, Gerald J. McCarthy of Glens Falls, New York, sister, Karen McCarthy-Cady, and nephew, Colin Cady both of South Burlington, Vermont, and numerous cousins. He is also survived by close friend, Sonja Fielder.
