Bermex Announces Expansion Plans

Bermex International, Inc., a leader in the casual and formal dining room furniture business, expands and innovates one more time this year. With an expansion completed at the end of 2004 of 20,000 sq. ft. to its Louiseville plant as well as the addition of two plants (which brings the total to 7 and the total number of employees to more than 460) and an expansion plan of 60,000 sq. ft. to its Head Office, the Maskinongé business has the wind astern. While Asian manufacturers are gaining strength in the North American marketplace, BERMEX is still achieving constant progress. An increase of sales in Canada and a larger representation per territory in the United States are only a few signs of the financial health of the company. A wise management, professionals on the look-out for new trends in interior design and above all a new concept of "Design it your way" have contributed in 2004 to the progress of the business and are giving a hint of success for year 2005. The introduction of this new concept over the last year has allowed Bermex to go from a choice of around 160 tables to a possibility of 363,000 different tables. Consumers can personalize their table by selecting the table top (size, shape and number of leaves), the table edge profile, the desired apron style, the style and size of legs or bases (in different heights : standard, counter and pub). Once all the above are selected, the consumer can choose among a selection of 79 finishes and colors (which can be combined : one finish for the top and one for the rest of the table). The total of these choices brings us to the five most popular styles : Contemporary, Early American, French Country, Mission and Traditional. To sum it all, a choice of more than 260 chairs (most of them with assorted 24" and 30" swivel or fixed bar stools) is offered, the great majority of them being available with wood seat or cushion seat as well as with options of legs to match the table. Chairs are also available in any of our 79 finishes and colors which can be combined for chairs with wood seats. Chairs with cushions, as for them, can be upholstered with any of our fabrics (amongst a selection of more than 100 fabrics!). Moreover, the consumer has even the opportunity of supplying his own fabric in order to have his chairs customized. This is the personal touch that BERMEX can offer with the participation of its skilled team of seamstresses at the upholstery department. Many buffets and hutches complete the whole and are also available in the same choice of finishes and colors (buffets and hutches being also available in two tones). All drawers are assembled with dove tail joints, mounted on "Quadro" glides and lined with protecting felt. Buffets and hutches with glass doors do have a 3-way touch lighting system. BERMEX also offers few kitchen island models to complete the layout. With all these possible choices of tables, chairs, armchairs, bar stools, buffets, hutches and kitchen islands, BERMEX is in position of creating a DIFFERENT dining room set for EACH and EVERYONE of the 7.2 millions people in Quebec, Canada. In 2005, BERMEX will attend many exhibitions dedicated to the furniture professionals, both in Canada and the United States. This will be the occasion to present many new models, amongst which a new collection of traditional furniture, which sophisticated elements and exquisite style indicates a concern for taking its share of the up-market formal dining furniture category.
