Dualstar Consumer Products, the lifestyle and consumer products division of Dualstar Entertainment Group, the international corporate group for teen superstars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and the mary-kateandashley brand in partnership with major bedroom furniture manufacturer A.P. Industries of Quebec launched a new line of signature home furnishings and goods for ‘tweens and teens from mary-kateandashley home. The mary kateandashley furniture collection was unveiled at the High Point International Home Furnishing Show April 2005, the premiere trade show for the furniture industry. The collection has key pieces as well as accent pieces including bed, nightstand, armoire, desk/vanity, hutch, dresser, storage chest, bench and free-standing mirror. Each piece has a number of distinctive and customizable design elements which allows the consumer to express their unique style choosing favorite pieces to create their own collection taking into consideration the size and shape of any room. The consumer can also choose hardware in wood or metal and a selection of finishes in a vast array of colors. The mary kateandashley furniture collection also provides safety features such as rounded top corners and side roller glides to keep drawers securely in place and metal plate links to prevent larger pieces from tilting or falling. The launch of home furnishings follows the enthusiastic response at retail to the mary-kateandashley brand home goods and décor. “Our objective was to create a furniture collection to meet the needs and style of girls ages 4 to 18,” said Judy Swartz, Dualstar Central Design Studio senior vice president and executive designer. “We wanted the collection to be stylish with antique and feminine accents. Each piece has a number of distinctive and customizable design elements including detailed moldings and curves.” “Stylish home furnishings for young people are hard to find and we recognized the opportunity to create something cool, customizable and perfect for girls everywhere” said Ashley. “Quality and style are both very important to us and we created the collection with these elements in mind,” added Mary-Kate. “This brand new collection has been specially designed to meet the needs of girls…and with our wide selection of items and colors now they’ll be able to create their own bedroom style just like Mary-Kate and Ashley.
