Sealy Appoints Philip Dobbs Senior VP Marketing

Sealy, Inc., the leading mattress producer, announces Philip Dobbs has joined Sealy as Senior Vice President – Marketing. Dobbs will report directly to David McIlquham, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, Dobbs held the position of Senior Vice President - Marketing at the Cadbury Adams division of Cadbury Schweppes plc. in New Jersey. He has also held senior management positions with H J Heinz, Fruit of the Loom and Kraft Foods. “We’re excited to welcome such a seasoned marketing executive to Sealy,” said McIlquham. “Philip brings more than 15 years of experience marketing quality, brand-name products and packaged goods. I am confident his well-established expertise will be an asset to Sealy as we look to extend our market leadership.” In his previous position at Cadbury Adams, Dobbs was responsible for the consumer marketing of their confectionary division including five different business units with revenues approaching $1 billion. Dobbs grew up in Spartanburg, SC and, before embarking on his career in the private sector, served in the United States Navy. He received his BS degree from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. Subsequently, he served in the surface warfare group, before being assigned as the Navy ROTC Officer in Charge at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State. He obtained his MBA from Duke University. Phillip will be based at Sealy’s global headquarters in Archdale, NC.
