New York City’s furnishings market will expand significantly with the launch of International Interiors New YorkTM (IINY), a new trade fair showcasing fine furnishings and inspirational interior design. Running Saturday, May 20 - Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at New York City’s Passenger Ship Terminal, the new show will be held concurrently with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair® (ICFF®) as part of New York Design Week. Produced by George Little Management, LLC (GLM®) and Reed Exhibitions, IINY will present approximately 300 exhibitors from around the world in 50,000 net square feet of exhibit space. Featured products will include fine furniture, home décor, arts & crafts masterpieces and rare objects, tableware, fabrics, seating, lighting, carpet & flooring, wall coverings, accessories, kitchen & bath, outdoor furniture and residential and commercial interiors. The show will focus on the needs of North American and international commercial & residential interior designers, contract and hospitality designers, architects, retailers, facility managers, wholesalers, store designers and home furnishings buyers. “Over the last 17 years, ICFF has built a reputation as the show in North America for contemporary furnishings and design. The addition of IINY offers attendees access to a broader selection of high-end resources spanning the traditional to contemporary design spectrum,” said Phil Robinson, senior vice president, GLM. Together, IINY and ICFF will strengthen New York Design Week, and its collection of showroom activities, parties and allied industry events. “In one visit to New York, attendees will be able to source products, ideas and inspiration for all segments of their customer base,” said Greg Topalian, vice president, Reed Exhibitions. GLM and Reed Exhibitions will promote IINY and ICFF with an integrated marketing campaign, and a series of special events, seminars and attendance promotions will round-out market offerings for all participants. Continuous free shuttle service will link the Passenger Ship Terminal and the Javits Center – where ICFF is located – and both shows will honor each other’s badges. IINY marks the second partnership between GLM and Reed Exhibitions. In 2004, the two companies partnered to collocate GLM’s Gourmet Housewares Show with Reed Exhibition’s National Hardware Show® in Las Vegas. “Through our collective efforts, we have been able to strengthen our business relationships while building a comprehensive marketplace for these industries. We look forward to developing the same for the design community,” said Alan Steel, executive vice president, GLM. International Interiors New York (IINY), a joint venture between GLM and Reed Exhibitions is an international showcase of unique furnishings and inspirational interior design. The premier edition of IINY will run Saturday, May 20, through Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at New York City’s Passenger Ship Terminal, and will be held concurrently with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Together, the two shows will present nearly 800 exhibitors and will attract some 25,000 trade attendees.
