Kingsdown Raises More Than $1 Million For Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Kingsdown, manufacturer of ultra-premium bedding, has surpassed its goal of raising $1 million for Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. As part of its centennial celebration in 2004, the Mebane-based company and their Canadian partner, Kingsdown Canada, formed Kingsdown Miracle Kids and set out to raise $1 million. "It is a testament to the generosity of our dealers, employees and friends that we have raised even more than we had hoped," says Eric Hinshaw, CEO of Kingsdown. "We are thrilled that contributions continue to come in to benefit this cause, which is so important to us." To reach the ambitious fundraising goal, employees at Kingsdown's eight plants in the United States and Canada have pitched in to sponsor golf tournaments, a motorcycle rally, auctions and other events. Kingsdown dealers also ran fundraising promotions in their retail stores. By far, the most money has been raised by a three-day golf tournament event, Swing for Kids, which was hosted at the Pinehurst Resort, N.C., where Kingsdown dealers, suppliers and friends made significant contributions.
