Mario Industries announced that it has purchased The Reliance Lamp Company. Louis Scutellaro, President of Mario, plans to work closely with Michael Magun – Reliance Lamp’s CEO (under previous ownership) who will be staying on to aid with the transition, and to help Reliance move forward as the Director of the newly formed Reliance division of Mario. “The first step” says Scutellaro will be to “relocate Reliance’s Boynton Beach, Florida facility to the Mario complex in Roanoke, Virginia. Mario has six buildings at two locations that have over 160,000 square feet of Warehouse and Office space. We will then begin to ship all Reliance Lamp orders that are in house.” A formal re-launching of the company is planned for the Fall High Point Market and both companies will show at the current Mario Space – I.H.F.C. H420. “This is a bold step for Mario and we expect both Reliance and Mario to benefit from this partnership”. Mario is the oldest family run lamp manufacturer in the United States, having opened their doors in 1922. Like Mario, Reliance was originally based in the greater New York area, but later moved their operations to the Southeast.
